Norris Lake Water Line Crossing

WHY: To add redundancy with a secondary water line for water supply back-up at the Norris Water Treatment Plant

WHAT: 3,080 linear feet of 24” pipe

WHERE: Norris Lake crossing from Tanglewood Rd, Sharps Chapel to Sugar Camp Ln, Maynardville

WHEN: This project took place on March 15, 2023

HOW MUCH: $7.5 million

Norris Freeway Area Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity in this growing area and replacement of old, deteriorating pipe

WHAT: 24,435 linear feet of pipe ranging in size from 2” to 12″

WHERE: Norris Freeway, Joey Lane, Old Andersonville Pike, Old Jacksboro Pike, Shade Weaver Road, Highland View Road, Shanks Lane, Weaver Cemetery Road, Andersonville Pike, Norris Lane

WHEN: Construction started January 19, 2021. The project estimated completion date is December 2021

HOW MUCH: $1.6 million

Old Downtown Powell Area Water System Improvements

WHY: To enhance reliability to eliminate service outages due to deteriorating pipe

WHAT: 36,462 linear feet of pipe ranging in size from 2” to 12”

WHERE: Ewing Road, Brickyard Road, Spring Street, Harmon Road

WHEN: Construction started February 17, 2020. This project was completed in February 2021.

HOW MUCH: $3.4 million

Broadacres Area Water System Improvements

WHY: To enhance reliability to eliminate service outages due to deteriorating pipe

WHAT: 23,520 linear feet of 6” and 8” pipe

WHERE: Cruze Road, Stamps Lane, and Broadacres Subdivision

WHEN: Construction started August 3, 2020. The project estimated completion date is June 2021

HOW MUCH: $1.5 million

Tell Mynatt/Quarry Road Booster Station

WHY: To address water system pressure issues in this area

WHAT:

East Copeland Rd & Conner Rd Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity and service reliability – upgrade waterline and combine 3 pump stations

WHAT: 29,900 linear feet of pipe ranging in size from 2” to 12” and 1 – 250 gpm water booster station

WHERE: East Copeland Road and Connor Rd

WHEN: Construction started March 29, 2019. The project was completed in June 2020

HOW MUCH: $2,137,220.43

Pedigo Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity and reliability of water service

WHAT: 10,080 linear feet of 8” pipe 

WHERE: Miller Road to Norris Freeway

WHEN: Construction started December 1, 2019. The project was completed in May 2020

HOW MUCH: $687,562.00

Collier Rd Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity and reliability of water service

WHAT: 4600 linear feet of 12” pipe

WHERE: Crown Ridge Lane to West Copeland Drive and Spring Street to Collier Road

WHEN: Construction started April 1, 2019. The project was completed in September 2019.

HOW MUCH: $564,230.05

 Bells Campground @ Bull Run Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity and reliability of water service

WHAT: Replace existing 4” pipe with 4,112 linear feet of 8” pipe 

WHERE: Bells Campground Rd

WHEN: Construction started June 15, 2017. The project was completed in October 2017.

HOW MUCH: $270,000.00

West Emory @ Cate Road Water and Sewer System Relocation

WHY: To increase capacity and reliability of water service

WHAT: 800 linear feet of 8” pipe

WHERE: West Emory and Cate Road

WHEN: Construction started May 1, 2018. The project was completed in August 2018.

HOW MUCH: $96,704.00

Reed Road & Reed Lane Water System Improvements

WHY: To increase capacity and reliability of water service

WHAT: 7300 linear feet of 6” and 8” pipe

WHERE: Reed Road and Copeland Road

WHEN: Construction started February 1, 2016. The project was completed in March 2016.

HOW MUCH: $235,970.00
